The first exhibit of the 2007-08 academic year features a national touring juried exhibit of works by young artists with disabilities. “Shifting Gears” features 15 works that include drawings, acrylic and oil paintings, photographs, and mixed media pieces.

“Shifting Gears” challenged artists to reflect on a pivotal moment in their life that led to a greater understanding of themselves in relation to their art and their disability. The works in the exhibit mark a moment in time where life turned a corner, where reflection resulted in a new path to creative expression.
