• PERIODICAL ARTICLE report (up to 30 pts.)
  Read and summarize a non-fiction article that is directly related to your course.
  Indicate how the subject of this article relates to your course.
  Include proper reference (Title of article, name of periodical, date, author, and pages).

• TUTORING (up to 50 points)
  Actively participate in tutoring related to your course, on a regular basis,
  if need for tutoring is indicated by your test or lab scores.

• FIELD TRIP* (up to 50 pts.)
  Report on preparation, itinerary, field observations, date, and relationship to the specific subject matter of your course.
  Properly labeled photographs will be looked at favorably.
  Include sources of information you used in your preparation or obtained during the trip.
  Indicate how this activity helped you with your course.

• BOOK report* (up to 50 pts.)
  Read and report on a non-fiction work directly related to your course.
  Indicate how the subject matter relates to your course.
  Include proper reference (Title, author, and date).

Please be sure to include your name in all e-mail messages, especially if it is not obvious from your e-mail address.
Also, please be sure and include a subject, preferably one that pertains to our course (or I might not read it).

• Chapter OBJECTIVES (10 pts.)
  Visit the textbook website and see if it contains learning objectives for each chapter.
  You can access the textbook website from your specific LCC course web page,
  where you may also find links to web pages with objectives for your specific LCC course.
  If there are on-line objectives,
  copy them into a word processor and print them out so that they will be readily available to you.
  Show me your copy of the objectives. Be sure your name is on it.
  This must be done by the end of Week 4 of the term, so that you can use them.

  If your textbook has a web site with on-line practice quizzes, E-mail me the results of your first on-line quiz.
  You can do this directly from your textbook's web site.
  Be sure to put your name in the message/subject, if it is not obvious from your e-mail address.
  Do NOT send me the results of any other quizzes.
  If you find these on-line quizzes useful, please use them.
  That is why this is being offered as extra credit - to familiarize you with these quizzes.

  Complete Internet assignments beyond those required for your course
  • WWW Extra Credit Assignment - PNW EARTHQUAKE - ERSI 104, GEOG 105, GEOLOGY, OCNG 140

• WEB SITE EXPLORATION (up to 10 pts.)
  E-mail me a summary of what you did (list the web sites including the URLs),
  where you found the sites (an LCC web page, textook web site, search engine, or other means),
  how the site relates to your course (be specific), what you learned from the site(s), how long you spent, ,br>and your evaluation of the site(s) - Was it interesting and helpful? Was the time spent worthwhile?
  Was this a good way, or even a better way, for you to learn the concepts covered?
  Points would vary, according to what you do and, to some extent, how well you did it - was it worth while etc.
