The Summit and Crater of Cinder Cone, July 31, 2004, Lassen Volcanic National Park

Most of the summit of a cinder cone consists of a crater.
In the distance is tree-covered Prospect Peak,
an extinct shield volcano with a cinder cone on its summit.
