Volcanic Bombs and Bomb Impact Craters
This view of the northern base of Cinder Cone,
in Lassen Volcanic National Park,
reveals many large
volcanic bombs
and several impact craters.
The bombs are large pyroclastic materials
created by mildly explosive eruptions of gas-rich basaltic lava.
