The June Solstice

The June Solstice marks
the beginning of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere and
the beginning of Winter in the Southern Hemisphere.
It occurs this year on June 21 at 0646 UT (Universal Time),
that is 2:46 AM EDT, and 11:46 PM PDT.
Note that there is daylight north of the Arctic Circle and
darkness south of the Antarctic Circle.
