GEOL 170 GEOLOGY OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST Explores the rocks, geologic features, and evolution of the Pacific Northwest, including the Cascades, Columbia Plateau, Olympic Mountains, and Yellowstone. Options include taking the lecture portion of the course only for three credits or both lecture and lab for five credits. Laboratory includes rock identification, interpretation of topographic and geologic maps, and classification of fossils common to the northwest. Field trips may be required.
